Kenya at a Glance
The Republic of Kenya lies in East Africa. It is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the northeast, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west, and Sudan to the northwest, with the Indian Ocean running along the southeast border.
Since independence in 1963, Kenya has maintained remarkable stability despite changes in its political system and crises in neighbouring countries. Since the re-emergence of multiparty democracy, Kenyans have enjoyed an increased degree of freedom.
Kenya is a diverse country, with many different cultures represented. While much of Kenya’s economy is dependent on agriculture and agricultural products, there are also significant populations of nomadic peoples. Tourism represents a significant income earner for the country.
Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city is the primary communication and financial hub of East Africa. It enjoys some of the region's best transportation linkages and communications infrastructure.
What we do
Emergency Care and Ambulance Services: St John Kenya has a well managed fleet of ambulances fitted with state of the art rescue equipment. The personnel who provide the services are trained as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). An ambulance is always on hand to provide assistance in the case of sickness or hospital transfers at a reasonable price.
St John ambulances are frequently called to emergencies including road traffic accidents, fires etc. All assistance provided in emergency settings is free of charge.
We currently have 9 ambulances of which 6 are in Nairobi, 1 in Mombasa, 1 in Kisumu and 1 in Nakuru.
St John Kenya runs an ambulance contract scheme which provides services to companies and businesses on a 24 hour basis. Members of this scheme enjoy the following benefits:
