The International Office

The International Office, previously known as the Order Secretariat, was created in October 1999 to service the Grand Council and to act as the link between the Priories, St John Associations and the Jerusalem Eye Hospital.

Based in Clerkenwell, London, the International Office:

  • provides policy development work for the Order as required by the Grand Council
  • supports St John Associations via the Assistance Programme and Capacity Building
  • acts as a link and coordination point between Priories, Associations and the Eye Hospital
  • assists St John Establishments and the Jerusalem Eye Hospital in preparing nominations for admission to the Order of St John Honours and Awards Committee
  • maintains and manages the Order's financial activities including compiling the Annual report and accounts.
  • maintains liaison with the other recognised Orders of St John
